Rather than the traditional corporate holiday party, MondayCall decided to step out into the community and volunteer with Project Open Hand to celebrate the season. MondayCall worked in the Grocery Center measuring and bagging coffee and oatmeal for distribution and also in the kitchen chopping fresh vegetables to be served later that day.
Project Open Hand works to feed the most at- risk in our community. Started in 1985 to bring nutritious meals to people with HIV/AIDS, Project Open Hand has expanded substantially. Today, they prepare 2,500 meals and provide 200 bags of healthy groceries to help sustain their clients as they battle serious illnesses, isolation, or the health challenges of old age every day.
We were inspired by the food quality and the warm atmosphere at Project Open Hands. It was a great experience and we hope to continue building this relationship.
